STEP-1 SURFACE PREPARATION

STEP-1

 

CLEANING THE COUNTER

Do not attempt to refinish a countertop without first cleaning it thoroughly

with SPR provided products and methods.

 

Countertops have crud and grease hidden in every corner, crevice and around faucet and sink rim.

  1. Black Scrub Pad

  2. Scrub Handle

  3. Super-Scower

  4. Step-1 cleaner

  5. Booster-1 (Add Booster-1 if extremely dirty)

  6. Booster-2 (Add Booster-1 and 2  if extremely greasy)

SCRUB THE ENTIRE SURFACE VIGOROUSLY

RINSE THE SURFACE

  1. REMOVE WATER WITH SPONGE

  2. Continue to rinse top until rinse water from sponge is CLEAR!

DRY SURFACE KF-7

CAUTION: EXTINGUISH ANY PILOT LIGHTS ETC. KF-7 IS FLAMMABLE

  1. KF-7 Absorbs water and removes grease residue

  2. Apply KF-7 generously around corners, seams. sink rim or faucet etc.

  3. FINALLY wipe the entire top with KF-7 and a fresh paper towel

SAND SURFACE

Sand entire surface thoroughly

  1. Use 1/8 or 1/4 inch orbital sander

  2. Use ONLY 80 grit WHITE abrasive paper

VACUUM SURFACE

Remove all dust from surface and surrounding areas

Dust left behind will create problems with a gritty finish when applied

WIPE SURFACE WITH WET SPONGE

Removes dust or powder left behind by vacuum

DRY SURFACE WITH REUSABLE TACK CLOTH

 

APPLY MASKING TAPE TO FAUCET, SINK RIM ETC.

 

 

AFTER MAKING A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF TOP

PROCEED TO STEP-2
