REPAIRS BEFORE REFINISHING A COUNTERTOP

Repairs on countertops are basically done the same as porcelain or fiberglass

KF-43  is the only filler required for countertop repairs

KF-43 requires White Cream Hardener (Catalyst)

KF-43 CHIP REPAIR FILLER (MIXING)

MIX THOROUGHLY

AREA BEING REPAIRED MUST BE HEATED WITH HEAT GUN

PRIOR TO APPLYING FILLER

Heating surface removes moisture and starts hardening filler from the back side of the repair.

LAMINATED  SURFACES: Touch heated area with (back side) of hand. When areas is uncomfortable warm to touch but NOT to hot to touch then apply catalyzed KF-43 filler.

5

REPAIR FILLER APPLICATION

If laminate material around a burn is loose (not glued down)

  1. Either remove (cut out) loose material or raise the loose edge with caulk removal knife

  2. Work a little catalyzed KF-43 under loose laminate with the mixing pallet knife (spatula

  3. Place knife blade on loose laminate and apply pressure

  4. At the same time heat the area with the heat gun until KF-43 hardens

  5. Fill damaged area with catalyzed KF-43

6

FILLED AREA REQUIRES HEATING WITH HEAT GUN

FILLER MUST BE HARD BEFORE SANDING

With a metal object like a screw driver etc, tap on surface beside filler then tap on filler.

When both filler and surrounding area sound the same the filler is hard and ready to sand.
