Let us show you how to do it yourself and save!
Some units are well worn and or considerably darker in the bottom and slightly up the sides of tub area. Solution : After a deep cleaning with the kit below apply SlipGrip bottom coating to cover the majority of the bottom including slightly above curve where bottom meets the sides of the tub. Then finish the unit off with the gloss restoration.
Some units are well worn and darker in the bottom and up the tub side walls. Solution: After deep cleaning the entire unit. If the bottom and sides of the tub are noticeably darker than the rest of the tub prep the bottom and about half way up the sides of the tub with the green scrub and Fiberglass gloss remover. Apply the SlipGrip bottom and allow it to dry. Notice the area between the Red Arrows. Warm this area with heat gun then touch up this area where the SlipGrip meets the tub walls and about half way up the tubs sides with SPR Porcelain & Fiberglass Touch UP Aerosol. After touchup wait 5 minutes then heat touched up areas of tub with heat gun to dry Touch-Up material. When completely dry proceed with Wipe-On finish to restore gloss to entire tub. Unique Hydrated Acrylic Polymer Wipe On finish SPR kits contains everything you will need to restore 12 or more fiberglass tubs.
Step 1 Clean the tub with the light duty scrub pad and a unique blend of mild acids that will remove virtually everything on the tub yet will not harm the surface. Step 2 Repair any chips or scratches on the tubs surface with our Repair Kit which is included with your first order. Step 3 We recommend applying Slip-Grip™ or a vinyl safety mat to the bottom of the tub for safety and to cover any and all imperfections in the tub bottom. Step 4 Restore the tubs surface by applying our unique clear, liquid filler to all dull, worn or damaged areas of the tub. This will fill all minor imperfections and gives the tub a soft satin look rather that a dull worn look. After this step is completely dry apply our glaze coat right over the areas having a satin look. This will restore these areas to a glossy look like the rest of the tub. Keep in mind this is for the restoration of the previously dull areas only. By restoring the dull areas of the tub we are therefore restoring the original look to the tub. Step 5 Re-caulk the tub only with our recommended caulking for a like new look. This product contains NO Silicone. We do not recommend the use of silicone since it is hard to work with and very difficult to remove also it supports mildew growth. We have found that our recommended is very easy to apply and work with. It is easy to clean up with water, dries fast and last practically forever. We "recommend" that every restored tub have a slip resistant bottom installed either SPR Slip-Grip or a professional vinyl mat. This is NOT absolutely imperative however it looks better and is safer for the user.
